The Institute is an intensive three-day residential public affairs management program. This is now the fourth year that we are holding this unique public affairs professional development executive education offering in Asia. It is the only executive level professional development opportunity in Asia for corporate public affairs professionals - embracing corporate communications, government relations, stakeholder relations, issues management, internal communications and media relations.
Faculty and guest presenters
The Institute Faculty is led by Centre Chairman Geoff Allen and includes Sheree Anne Kelly (Director of Political and International Programs at the Public Affairs Council), Wayne Burns (Director, Centre for Corporate Public Affairs) Prof. Cassian Cheung (adjunct Professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business and Management School) and Joe Fong (Senior Associate, Centre for Corporate Public Affairs). Guest presenters will include senior public affairs executives from leading companies in Asia including from AOL Time Warner, BAT, Dow Chemicals, GlaxoSmithKline, McDonald's , McKinsey, Neptune Orient Lines, Philips, Procter & Gamble, Shell, Unilever and WE Marketing Group.

Following the residential Institute, we are holding a one-day Roundtable for senior public affairs practitioners. The one-day roundtable, which is co-hosted by the Centre for Corporate Public Affairs and the Public Affairs Council, provides a unique opportunity for leaders of the public affairs profession throughout Asia to share ideas, deepen their relationships and identify 'best practices.' This roundtable is designed for interaction among regional heads of function and senior corporate public affairs/external relations practitioners from across Asia.
This interactive roundtable will cover
- Business during the global downturn – what CEOs and Boards want to know;
- Managing the Public Affairs function in a downturn;
- Public Affairs and the Country Manager;
- Managing anti-corporate activism;
- Getting real about social media; and
- Career planning in a down economy.
