Westpac is looking for a creative and driven senior communications professional to join our corporate affairs team.

The Corporate Affairs Lead supports internal communications for Business & Wealth, at a Chief Executive and Managing Director level.

The day-to-day role includes:

  • developing and delivering end-to-end communications strategies to support business objectives and employee engagement
  • producing written and video communication materials
  • management of internal All Ins and events to support the Chief Executive and Managing Directors strategic priorities and communications
  • effectively identifying, mitigating, and managing business issues

We’re looking for a communications professional to help support our senior leaders craft and deliver messages to connect and empower their teams. This position plays a crucial role in lifting employee engagement and supporting our business with new initiatives and campaigns.

Importantly the candidate will be ready to hit the ground running, bringing new ideas and creative thinking to the way we deliver our communications. We’re looking for a proactive and driven team player with proven ability to collaborate with others and drive ideas and deliver outstanding results.

What do you need?

  • Minimum eight years’ communications experience working in corporate affairs or similar communications roles Ability to build and manage strong relationships with senior executives and a range of stakeholders and business partner
  • Strategic thinking, flexibility, ability to respond to short deadlines, to operate independently and effectively in a fast-paced work environment
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Open to learning new communication technology systems and processes
  • Experience in all aspects of corporate communications is desirable but not essential, including issues management, media relations, stakeholder engagement and reputation management
