Senior Manager External Communications

We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven professional who has a strong background in external communications to fill the newly created Senior Manager, External Communications role. This position has been designed to help continue the elevation of the Newmont Brand, highlighting the business to various external stakeholders in the Australia Market and is best suited to someone who considers themselves to be a self starter and whom has the ability to translate complex business topics into engaging storytelling content. This is a full time permanent position, reporting to the Head, External Relations Australia with a dotted functional like to the Head, External Communications Global. Newmont supports flexible remote working so you'll have the opportunity depending on your location, for team collaboration in either the Perth or our Melbourne Office in addition to working remotely.

The role will include:

Developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications programs that strengthen and reinforce Newmont’s global brand communications strategy across the region.

Securing and preparing leaders for speaking opportunities and/or high profile media relations efforts.

Managing Newmont’s Australian social media presence and be serve as a a content partner for the company’s global channels.

Executing and providing support on issues management covering a wide range of crisis level reputation drivers.

Building partnerships with internal stakeholders at every level of the business and across multiple departments and geographies:

Researching and identifying appropriate content and messaging strategies that reinforce positive and enduring Newmont storylines/trends Newmont wants to own

Providing input and research on new tools and media to support the internal/external cascading and dissemination of communications: select vendor management

Implementing data-driven processes and systems for measurement and tracking communications campaigns, initiatives and day to day media impact.
