2021 Reuters Institute Digital News Report released

This year's annual Reuters' Institute Digital News Report reveals trust in news is up 6 per cent globally, and by 5 per cent in Australia, placing the nation in the mid-range among the 46 countries surveyed. Global consumption of print news has plunged markedly since 2016, and news from established channels is most trusted in western democracies. There is also rising concern worldwide about the prevalence of misinformation and propaganda.
