Some companies are clearing meetings out of calendars to boost worker productivity. Remote working has only exacerbated the problem of excessive meetings, with casual desk-side chats replaced by multiple Zoom calls. Analysis of employees' meeting invitations at 21,500 global companies by Harvard Business School reveals although meetings are on average 12 minutes shorter versus pre-pandemic, people are attending 13 per cent more of them, with the number of invitees rising by 14 per cent.
