Masterclass - Global Best Practice Stakeholder Engagement

A two-day Masterclass ideal for practitioners accountable for developing and executing stakeholder engagement strategy

Overview

This highly interactive Masterclass has been developed to refresh and hone the capabilities of practitioners accountable for developing and executing stakeholder engagement strategy. It will be the most practical and insightful executive education program for corporate public affairs practitioners on stakeholder engagement in 2025. Graduates will be awarded the Centre’s Certificate in Stakeholder Engagement.

The module will interrogate and examine common and good practice approaches and use of stakeholder engagement tools in Australia and internationally, including:

  • Global trends and developments in stakeholder engagement in large organisations -what stakeholder engagement mastery looks like.
  • Reimagining and developing stakeholder engagement strategy.
  • Engaging critics and stakeholders who don’t want to be engaged.
  • The nuts and bolts of engagement executing strategy, including tactics, tools, and measurement.
  • Sustaining high performance stakeholder engagement, including ‘giving back’ accountability for engagement to the C-suite and line management.
  • Stakeholder mapping (typology, attributes, influence), prioritisation, and sophisticated approaches to applying AI to better understand stakeholders.
  • New approaches to measuring, and reporting stakeholder engagement to inform strategy.
  • New horizons in large organisations for engaging the most important stakeholders.

The Masterclass will take the stakeholder engagement expertise of practitioners to a new and higher level of performance. It will be delivered by the Centre's Executive Director Wayne Burns and Guest Faculty MJ Bellotti, Chief Purpose Officer - RACQ Group, Maryanne Graham, Executive General Manager Stakeholder, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs – Transgrid, David Stuart, Head of External Affairs, federal & east coast - bp ANZ, and Joshua Zugajev, Executive Manager, Strategic Engagement – Unitywater.
