The state of play in the election — where the race is and its drivers, with Guest Faculty Bruce Wolpe and Jake Siewert.

Bruce Wolpe is a Senior Fellow (non-resident) at the United States Studies Centre. He is a regular contributor on US politics across media platforms in Australia. In recent years, Bruce has worked with the Democrats in Congress during President Barack Obama's first term, and on the staff of Prime Minister Julia Gillard. He has also served as the former PM's chief of staff. From 1998-2009, Bruce was a senior executive at Fairfax Media in Sydney.

Jake Siewer
t is based in New York and is Managing Director and the Head of Global Public Policy and Political Risk at Warburg Pincus, where he also oversees the Sustainability Strategy group. He is also a member of the firm’s Executive Management Group. Jake joined Warburg Pincus in 2021 from Goldman Sachs where he was a Partner and directed the firm’s global communications, content, and marketing efforts. Jake is a former White House Press Secretary and economic adviser to the US Treasury Secretary.

Bruce and Jake will provide an in depth look at the state of play in the election — where the race is and its drivers. As well, they will provide insights on what to expect initially from Trump or Harris — whoever assumes office, tied to an outline of what will happen with the new Congress.

The briefing includes a Q&A session with Bruce Wolpe.
